What does a relationship manager do?
A relationship manager is a professional responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients or stakeholders of a company or organisation.
The primary role of relationship managers is to ensure customer satisfaction and retention by understanding their needs, preferences, and concerns — and providing personalised service and support. They proactively work on enhancing the customer experience by collaborating across departments (like sales, marketing, and customer service) to find areas for improvement based on feedback and trends.
Relationship manager responsibilities also include understanding trends that may impact the company’s clients, develop strategies accordingly to retain existing clients, and ensure a positive relationship with the stakeholders. They work in various industries for maintaining and improving customer experience, and in turn, driving business growth.
